Take the Pantene #BeautifulLengths #8or8 Challenge!

Influenster has inspired me to participate in the Pantene #BeautifulLengths #8or8 Challenge, where you can choose to either donate 8" of hair or $8 towards helping those who lose their locks to cancer battles. The Pantene Beautiful Lengths program provides free, real-hair wigs to those who deserve them.

In hopes to help inspire those on the fence, I made this collage of beautiful blonde celebrity bombshells with cute cropped cuts! Jennifer Lawrences piecey pixie is the epitome of sass and class. Julianne Hough, Scarlett Johannsson, and Taylor Swift have shown off the prettiest short beachy waves! Not only will donating your hair made you feel good, but it can also make you look great!

Sadly, I could not participate in the 8" donation even if I wanted to, because my hair is bleached and dyed pink and purple at the tips! I did, however, donate $8 towards the cause via the link below:

I have had several family members lose battles to cancer, and I am supporting a family friend in her current battle with Lieukemia. Everyone I know who has had similar experiences to these is deserving of a beautiful wig.

This is the season of giving, and any and every donation counts!

Sleep Chic This Winter with Adore Me!

We're approaching the end of November now, which means Thanksgiving break, Christmastime (YES!), and hibernation...I wish! (It is National Sleep Month after all.) I love the holiday season, but the cold temperatures are extreme and it makes me want to be a hermit inside all the time! I wanted to share some of my favorite tips for staying cozy indoors this Winter season with all of you!

Pamper Yourself!
You work hard, so give yourslf a pat on the back. The body is a temple, and there is no better time than a cold winter to let a fragrant bath bomb or bubble bar fizzle out in the tub! (I love the ones from Lush) Listening to soft music while you're taking a bath is so relaxing. You can even let a hydrating face mask sit on the skin while you're lying in the tub. These cold months can really take a toll on your skin, so don't forget to put some natural lotion all over yourself afterwards to really seal in the moisture. I always find that painting my nails is relaxing as well, so pull out the silver and gold polish and color yourself festive!

Girls Night In!
Of course, you could have invited your friends over for the spa day, but I'm sure they would love participating in other holiday activities. Get a fire going, roast marshmallows and make smores while you snuggle up in fuzzy blankets and watch chick flicks or classic holiday movies. Don't forget the hot chocolate! You could even bake some cookies and decorate them in holiday spirit with little snowflakes, snowmen and reindeer! Take pictures and make DIY crafts together that your friends can take home as a memory of good times!

   Wrap Yourself in Luxurious Sleepwear!
When it comes to underwear, lingerie, robes, sleepwear, and more, Adore Me has you covered! Take their short, personalized quiz to sign up for a monthly subscription service, where you can get lingerie, sleepwear, underwear, and more, sent straight to your door! These sets are sure to make you feel feminine, flirty, and comfortable. I love the Shannon cami & short set so much that I've pictured it three times! This set is so cute and cheeky. The robe in the first picture would be great to cover yourself up after a warm, steamy shower. I also love their bras & panties. The light blue ones at the top of the post remind me of a snow storm, but the dark red ones on the bottom look so sultry and warm. To the right, I've pictured more girly sets. I am in love with the lace and the little bows on the sets, as well as the subtle contrast in colors, like the purple bows on the green set. All the little details are so fun!

Catch up on Beauty Sleep!
Now that we've talked sleepwear, we can talk about one of my favorite things...sleep! Make sure you're getting the right amount of sleep each night, which is usually around 7-9 hours. Sleep with a puffy pillow as well as a back rest, body pillow, or foot pillow for added comfort. I love my body pillow so much! Sleep with a blanket you love. I love how my fuzzy blanket feels against my skin as I'm falling asleep! Comfort is a vital element of a good restful sleep, so make sure it's dark and the temperature is right so you won't have any trouble.

Do What You Love!
The holidays are the perfect time to focus on something you love to do. I love to sing. Christmas songs are some of my favorite songs to listen to and sing along with. I've been finding it incredibly hard to wait until after Thanksgiving to start listening to them, and the Christmas commercials and store decorations have been tempting me. Relaxation is key during a holiday break. Pull out that sketchbook and start drawing, or document your thoughts in a journal. Try new things and travel with friends and family to places you've never been. Meet new people and go sightseeing!

Spread Kindness & Generosity
The end of the year is a perfect time to reflect on your accomplishments and what you want to do differently as a person. Definitely don't let those close to you forget how much you care for and love them! Give out smiles, donations and thoughtful gifts. What goes around comes back around, so spread cheer!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments what you do unwind and stay comfortable during these cold months!

Kiss Nail Dress

I am super impressed with the Kiss Nail Dress line. These pictures don't lie, the looks are very colorful and bold which I love--I've been getting compliments from people who saw my nails from over 10 feet away! Seriously though, imagine trying to create this look yourself..glitter, print, colors and all. You don't have to do that with these and it saves so much time. I've never used nail stickers before but I love these and the application was a lot easier and faster than I expected. Literally all you do is choose what size you think is best, carefully peel off the sticker (and they are pretty thick stickers so they don't tear easily) and just stick them on (and I suggest applying the center of the bottom tip near the cuticle first and them smoothing the sticker to the edges) and pile off the excess. Filing off the rest didn't appear as smooth on the tip as I wished, so I actually found that trimming the excess of with a nail clipper (or you could use small scissors) works really well. I did use a nude colored base coat since the stickers appeared to be a bit sheer, and even though you don't need it, I also applied a top coat to enhance the shine and protect the textured surface from getting caught on anything and snagging. There are over 21 designs to choose from that appeal to any age range and are affordable at $6.99 at drugstores and other retailers, so way cheaper to get salon quality nails that last up to 10 days without going to the salon and spending mega bucks. I'm not just saying this, I really love these! It seems like I love everything I blog about but it's all true haha thank you for reading! NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

I was super impressed by the New York Color Liquid Lipshine in my Influenster Holiday VoxBox! The only times I've tried products from NYC in the past, I haven't been a big fan of them, but I'm a huge fan of the Liquid Lipshine! The color I received was "Nude York City", a light sheer peach color with a little shimmer throughout it. It smells really good--like coconut, but it doesn't taste like anything. My favorite thing is that it is nice and smooth and not sticky, which is my pet peeve when it comes to lip products. It looks really nice and gives natural shine on the lips and also looks good layered over a darker color on the center of the lip. The applicator is really nice and flexible so you can put it on without a mirror and don't have to worry. I've gotten many compliments on it and I highly recommend it. You can visit the NYC New York Color website at: http://bit.ly/ZmNfMI and read reviews on this product here: http://bit.ly/10cwV7v Thanks for reading everyone! xoxo, Kenzie

Goody QuikStyle!

Even before I had joined Influenster, I had been eyeing the Goody QuikStyle brush! Luckily, I got to try it through the Influenster VoxBox program and I am pretty pleased with this paddle brush. The brush normally costs around $12 at drugstores and department stores. The product features antimicrobial microfiber bristles along with the regular bristles to absorb 30% of moisture and cut down on drying time and side vents for maximum air flow. The microfiber bristles intimidated me a little at first because they look like little germs or something but they are really soft and the normal plastic bristles are more flexible than many other brushes I own, which are gentle to the hair and detangle very very well which is actually the main reason I like the brush. It's really good for me that it detangles and cuts down on drying time with the long thick hair that I have.  The brush is very lightweight and I really like the air vents. It makes it a lot easier and faster to dry my hair as the air flows through the spaces in the sides of the brush.

Here is a view from the side and front of the brush.

I highly recommend this brush, especially to people with long or thick hair who have a hard time getting the tangles out. You can see all the Goody brand products on their website here: http://bit.ly/REp8ue and read reviews on the Influenster product page here: http://bit.ly/Sis8Oi

I hope you enjoyed this post! xoxo, Kenzie

Stila Lip Glaze Review & All Is Bright Lip Glaze Set

Stila's Lip Glazes have always captured my eye in the store, mainly because of the wide range of color choices and their twist up application, but I never got around to trying them out--until now. In my last trip to Sephora I was marveled by all the limited holiday gift sets..I just had to get one. The All is Bright set came adorably packaged with 8 lip glazes, 6 being limited edition colors. These were quite cheap too, only $25, which if you think about it, one lip color even in the drugstore can be $6 or more. I love the range of colors in this set, especially because they can be beautiful over all skin tones and work well with many looks. The colors jack frost (1st swatch--a little hard to see), jolly(4th), and splendor (6th) have the most visible   shimmer. Out of these I actually really enjoy jack frost, as you can wear it over pretty much anything and it adds a pop or glitter to a boring look.  The berry tones are perfect for fall and the         black cherry (7th swatch) is warm for the holiday season. There are a few soft pinks which are good for everyday and could easily be added to Stila's permanent lip glaze collection. All of the colors are quite sheer, so you should use a similar base color if you want a more dramatic pop of color. I was scared of these glazes at first because as you know I HATE sticky lip gloss, but this was not too bad at all. The smell is not good or bad, it is a sweet tolerable smell though that really just smells like sweet lip gloss. This is a really great gift set to give to a daughter, sister, friend, or really any female you know who especially likes natural looking makeup. This was a really good first impression and a good set to add to my makeup collection from Stila. It is really a good value!

Magnetic Nail Polish!

I've been seeing this new type of nail polish in stores lately that creates cool designs with a magnet. So the last time I was in Target I decided to pick some up and was very pleased with the results! I chose Sally Hansen's Magnetic Nail Color in Silver Elements, which is a metallic, sparkly silver and it cost about $8.

The directions say to apply one coat to each nail and let it dry. Then after a few minutes put another coat on and immediately hold the small magnet, which comes attached to the top of the package, over the nail for about 10-20 seconds. The longer that you hold the magnet over your nail the darker and more defined the waves will be. I love this product, the only drawback is that it does take a while to do your nails with this polish. It is time consuming to go back with multiple coats and holding the magnet over each individual nail for up to 30 seconds at a time. It also takes a long amount of time for the polish to fully dry, at least 10-15 minutes until it has completely hardened. This is definitely not for those of you who love to quickly paint your nails and be done.

Over all I would give this a product 3/5. The concept and colors are great, but it does take a long time to actually use the polish and have it turn out nicely.
